Default Settings: Dasein engages notions of time and alienation from nature. The kinetic sculpture that resembles a clock with a metallic cube base and treelimb hand rotates in a syncopation foreign to humans. Completing one rotation at a random unit which is longer than one minute, this sculptures keeps an alternate version of time, one that deviates from an anthropocentric standardized measure.
In a video of a fish tank placed in the shoreline of Pacific Ocean, the waves washing over and around the geometric enclosure of glass. One might say a more natural measure of time is established, one created by the rhythm of wind transferring its energy to the water.
